During his most recent visit to Mumbai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the groundwork and officially launched a number of large-scale initiatives aimed at completely reinventing Maharashtra's infrastructure. These projects, which total more than Rs 29,400 crores, are expected to improve port, rail, and road connectivity, resulting in increased economic growth and job possibilities.  1. Significant Investment in Infrastructure

Enhanced Connectivity: Initiatives to upgrade the road and rail infrastructure in and around Mumbai are valued at Rs 29,400 crores.

2. Vadhavan Port: 

An Important Development Project with a 76,000 crore rupee budget.

5. Tunnels and Highways: 

Significant Developments: The nearly Rs. 16,600 crore Thane Borivali Tunnel Project will reduce the hour-long travel time between Thane and Borivali.

The nearly Rs. 6300 crore Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) will link the Pune Mumbai Motorway, Navi Mumbai, and the Western Suburban areas directly.

 

6. Multimodal Cargo Terminal and Remodeling of Kalyan Yard
Kalyan Yard: Increases capacity to manage more trains, therefore relieving traffic.
The cargo terminal located in Navi Mumbai offers job opportunities as well as extra terminal amenities for managing goods.

 

7. Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana Internship Program: This Rs 5600 crore program gives young people between the ages of 18 and 30 exposure to the industry and opportunities to upgrade their skills.


8. The Empowering the Underprivileged Awas Yojana has promised to build 3 crore more dwellings once 4 crore families have benefited.
SVANidhi Scheme: 90 lakh loans have been issued, greatly increasing the revenue of street vendors and encouraging online sales.
